Beipiaosaurus (meaning "Beipiao lizard") was a type of feathered theriznosaur from Early Creteceous China. At 2.2 metres, it was thought to be the largest feathered dinosaur, but due to the discoveries of Gigantoraptor and Yutyrannus, it is now the third largest feathered dinosaur. Like other theriznosaurs, it was a herbivore, using its large claws to tear leaves from trees, and as a form of defence.
